What kind of complaints can not be investigated by the Federal Ombudsman?

Complaints that do not concern a federal administrative authority:

if there is a specific médiation service, the Federal Ombudsman will forward your complaint accordingly.

Complaints that concern a federal administrative authority but:

  • you have evidently not yet contacted the administrative authority concerned to try and solve your problem;
  • your complaint is clearly unjustified;
  • your complaint has already been processed by the Federal Ombudsman and does not contain any new elements.

Or:

  • your complaint is anonymous (you have not indicated your identity);
  • your complaint pertains to facts dating back more than one year and you have taken no initiative since then.
